Welcome! I am so glad you are here.

Hi, I’m Rachel, a K–12 reading specialist, literacy consultant, and educator with over 14 years of experience supporting students, teachers, and school systems.

I help educators turn literacy research and assessment data into clear, actionable instructional decisions. My work focuses on evidence-based literacy instruction, data-informed teaching practices, intervention planning, and sustainable literacy systems that support both educators and students.

My work is grounded in the belief that learning to read is a civil right and that all students deserve access to high-quality, evidence-based literacy instruction.

I created this space to make literacy research more accessible, practical, and actionable for educators and school leaders. Here, you’ll find evidence-based insights, instructional strategies, implementation support, and practical tools designed to help schools strengthen literacy instruction with clarity and confidence.

You’ll also find my latest professional development offerings, so be sure to come back from time to time. I believe educators deserve professional learning that is both research-informed and realistic for the complexities of today’s classrooms. My goal is to bridge the gap between literacy research and day-to-day implementation so teachers and leaders can make informed instructional decisions that truly impact students.

Whether you are a classroom teacher, interventionist, literacy coach, administrator, or school leader, I hope this space provides encouragement, clarity, and practical support for the important work you do.

Thanks for being here.

— Rachel
